Debi Diamond
Eighteen years. More than four hundred original titles, five hundred if you include compilations. Enough electrifying performances to light Seattle. A dozen major awards. At the center of it all, Debi Diamond. Born in 1962 in Southern California's San Fernando Valley, drag racer turned serious actress Debi went to Hollywood seeking the usual fame and fortune. She found work as film producer Robert Evans' ("Chinatown") assistant, a model for Helmut Newton, appeared in commercials, on television shows and on numerous casting couches. To hear her tell it, they were all more interested in giving her work as a sex toy than as a legitimate actress. Fed-up and frustrated, she decided that as long as she was being fucked she might as well get paid for it and her career in porn was born.
Debi did her first scene as "Shelly Rey" in 1980 and was immediately recognized as a "no holds barred" performer, not stopping until she, her partner or partners and, in some cases, everyone else on the set it seems like, was completely drained. She took some time off and came back 40 pounds lighter but with all her energy and stamina intact. She used it to win virtually every award worth winning, sometimes two or four at a time. She won AVN's "Best Couples Sex Scene" award in 1989 for "The Chameleon," AVN's "Best All Girl Sex Scene" award in 1994 for "The (Ultimate) Dinner Party" along with three other awards that year and has been inducted into the AVN, FOXE, and XRCO Halls of Fame. Wow. She appears in a slew of Video Team releases but the personal favorites are "Bloopers" and "Bloopers 2."
Debi retired in 1998 to suburban Chicago to cultivate a husband, raise a family and help make the world a better place for children and rain forests. Plant a tree for us Debi.
